Why are you making Capsule Heroes?

During the game jam, Capsule Heroes showed incredible promise. Internally everyone had a blast playing the game and we simply couldn’t throw it away.

The game is much simpler to develop and less resource intensive than Treeverse. It also has the potential to start generating revenue for the company much earlier. Successfully shipping this game will establish Endless Clouds as a reputable and trustworthy game studio.

Furthermore, despite being one of the few NFT projects that have a treasury to last us through a continued bear, it’s important to not get complacent and to start generating revenue as fast as possible.

Doesn’t this take away focus from Treeverse?

The effect is not entirely negligible, however after thoughtful consideration, we are confident that the benefits far outweigh any potential downsides.

We’ve been building for almost 2 years and one of the counterintuitive lessons we’ve learned as founders is that simply adding more people does not speed up development time, especially before the mass production phase of the game. Ironically having too many people work on the product before mass production slows down development instead.

The development speed of Treeverse has been significantly faster in the last few months than all of last year when we had 50+ people working on it. And you can see this in our monthly updates.

Treeverse is a big game, and we aren’t going to rush it, it will take time "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." — this helps us still deliver a fun and competitive game whilst we continue working on the development of Treeverse.

But, ser, what about my NFTs?

Every NFT we have will play a role in Capsule Heroes, enhancing the interconnectedness of our projects. It is not one NFT, for one project. But one NFT, for all.

Does this mean you will get Plots in Capsule Heroes? No. Not exactly. The Treeverse Plots NFT will represent a new feature yet to be determined. We have a thread next week going more in detail with a change to one of our collections to better illustrate this. Do you have suggestions? Let us know on Discord!
