Engineering And Design
Design
Design team has been working on documents for upcoming features as well as adding content for the things that engineers are already done with. Hundreds of new game items have been introduced and added to the game.
Our combat mechanisms are also being refined by our combat designers in his own prototype. Once confirmed on that, they work closely with an engineer to bring across the features as close as possible.
A lot of time has been spent on improving the liveliness of our Lorwick town area with NPCs, animations and more.
Our talent trees has also been setup for the various trees that will be available in Beta. At the moment it’s still just based on spreadsheet data until engineers can implement directly.
Preliminary work has also begun on some further Auxilliary systems such as player profile, storage/bank system and cosmetic system. Engineers will do a first pass using placeholder UI until our UI artist can catch up to the latest version.
We also conducted various types of research on better ways of integrating Timeless in game as well as a reasonable implementation of capes in game, on select upper body equipment.
Engineering
Engineers have been working on the core systems required for our beta release. Since our engineering firepower has increased a fair bit, each engineer gets more time to properly complete and polish features. We’re definitely noticing much more velocity at the moment. We’re actively trying to get our core changes and improvements into our designers hands asap so they can implement it in the game. A lot more PRs and code is being pushed through which also means a fair bit more time is spent on code reviews as well.

Going Forward
Our current trajectory and development speed is looking quite promising. It’s taken a lot of time and effort to get to our current capabilities and these next few months will be vital in solidifying what should be considered the “Proper Version” of Treeverse. By this we mean the core mechanics, features and systems will be pretty much set in stone. The team will mostly revolve around the creation of new content and building on top of existing things, with less frequent “auxiliary” features being added at a slower pace.
Our current plan of action is to get the core experience to a really good, polished state, focusing on quality over quantity. We should start seeing the fruits of this labour in the upcoming months, with a good chunk to show for it in our Beta launch.
