An update on Treeverse. A look at our development and art team progress. We will be posting monthly for you to follow along the development of Treeverse, so make sure you subscribe!
With the first month of Treeverse Season 2 having passed we launched 2 drop rates, with the next coming in a few days, these will be convertible into tradeable NFTs into official launch.
Our big first update to the game was planned last month however will be occurring in April due to some delays and wanting to merge some more fixes in. We hope to launch our Challenge Leaderboards in April too.
Art Update
Engineering And Design
Design
The team is actively working on our release content, which includes redesigning the main quests and side quests to fit our official release capacity. We’ve made good progress on that front, and were able to do our first play test of the opening scene and areas of the game in our content branch.
We also split into quest team and combat team internally. Combat team are reworking and refining the combat experience and balancing, making enemies a bit smarter and improving the balance/feel of the game a lot more.
Engineering
Engineers are continuing to support the needs of the designers. Fixing bugs as they appear, including patches whatever issues we can from beta and pushing that to our main development branch.
This last month, we’ve worked on getting storage system, friend system, and client waypoint system into our development branch. We also fixed some critical issues in our quests, and memory leaks in our navigation as well as updated some major packages which could potentially fix some networking related issues we’ve been having in beta. We also managed to improve network latency slightly as well which should be somewhat noticeable when we push our next larger patch update.
Below is a short list of some other things we worked on
Navmesh waypoints in client side added for quests
Storage and Altan Wagon added
Key bindings bug fixed so it shouldn’t reset anymore
Permanent charged attack bug fixed
Introduce more precise timestamps for dungeon challenge
Working on leaderboards mechanism for community based challenges
Going Forward
We’re looking forward to pushing our next patch which is more about getting us into the habit of pushing larger feature changes. The content added will be limited, since our content overhaul would break existing progression. Instead expect more stability in the servers, and features like storage, waypoints and various bug fixes to be pushed in our next patch
We’ll also continue to push the possibility of getting rare pet and mount drops, enabling the timeless integration into the game, adding the mail system, and finally testing out our custom dungeon challenges in game.
